Ed Detomaso
Age 50

Ed has been a member of the Auburn Bowling Association for over 25 years. He lives in Auburn with his wife Melody and he has three children. He is the son of 1997 Hall of Famer, Anthony Detomaso.

Ed has a high series of 792 which he has thrown twice and one of them was thrown during match play in the Citizen Masters tournament. He has rolled 7 300 games in his career, the first in 1990 and the most recent was 2005. He has had one 298 and four 299 games along with over 250 700 series. He has averaged over 200 for twenty years with a high of 223 during the 1993 - 1994 season.

Ed has competed in one USBC national tournament, ten NYS Tournaments and 25 Auburn Bowling Association tournaments. He was 1998 all events champion in both the scratch & handicap divisions and he also had a 2nd place finish in the ABA singles in the early 1980's. He has placed both 5th & 6th in the NYS team event and placed 5th in the singles event of the Wild Irish Rose tournament. He also has qualified on numerous occasions for match play in the Citizen Masters.

The highlights of his career were his two 7th place finishes in the Citizen Masters
And during the 1993 - 1994 season he bowled 37 700 series.

Paul Samasuck
Age 50

Paul has been a member of the Auburn Bowling Association for 30 plus years. He is 50 years old and resides in Savannah with his wife Debbie and daughter, Erin. Paul is employed by the New York State Department of Corrections.

Paul has bowled six 300 games, the first in 1989 and the most recent in 2006. His high series is 812, bowled at Starlite Lanes on 09-21-04. He has two lifetime 800 series along with three 299 games and over 150 700 series. His high average was 235.92 during the 2004 - 2005 season, which was also the high average in the association that season.

Throughout his career Paul has been part of many League championship teams including the following: Bisure Enterprises in the 1980's, Rod Mills Memorial in 1990 - 1992, The Del Pickard Memorial in 1992-1993, Charter League in 1994 - 1996, Coors Classic League in 1995 - 1996, Fred Lamphere Mixed in 1997-1998, Captains Cup League in Mississippi in 2001 - 2002 and the Turner- Lumb Memorial in 2004-2005. He won many individual awards also in his career including the following: High game in the Rod Mills Memorial, Fred Lamphere Memorial and the Turner- Lumb Memorial. High Average in the Turner- Lumb Memorial, Fred Lamphere Memorial and the Captains Cup League. He also had High Series in the Fred Lamphere Memorial and the Captains Cup League.

Paul was Auburn Junior Masters Champion in both the 1973 & 1974 seasons, a New York State Junior Champion in 1974 & the Citizen Masters Champion in 1977. He was a member of two Auburn City Champion teams with Smokey's and the SPD All Stars and was Auburn City Tournament Singles Champion in 2005 with a 775 series.

During his fine career Paul feels that being crowned a State Champion is the highlight, closely followed The Masters Championship because he loves the head to head format of the tournament & then the high average of 235.92 during the 2004-2005 season means a lot because he only bowls once a week.

Louis A. Matro
Age 74

Louie was born June 13, 1933 and is currently 74 years old. He retired in 1995 from the New York State Department of Correctional Services as a Lieutenant. He resides in Orchard Park, NY with his wife Agnes. He has four daughters, seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Louie started “sticking” pins at the early age of 12. He worked at the Roman's, A.B.C., Polish Falcons and the Imperial Lanes. Bowling was free for pin boys and scores were kept on the back of score sheets.

In 1954 Louie was discharged from the Marine Corps and began bowling in league competition with coaching from his father, Hall of Famer (1981), Dom Matro.

Louie has bowled a high series of 747 and a high game of 279 along with bowling many 680 and 690's series in his career. He maintained a steady 185 to 188 average throughout his bowling years. He held offices in many bowling leagues, the 700 Club, and until a promotion and transfer with the Department of Corrections, he was an Auburn Bowling Association Director for nine years.
